My name is Indi, and I'm a certified Karuna Reiki Master-Teacher, therapeutic sound healer and student of contemporary shamanism.

 

I'm here to help you experience deep healing and discover your most authentic self by uncovering the layers of conditioning, unprocessed emotions, and outdated beliefs and behaviors that are holding you back. 
 

I will hold sacred space as you safely explore your internal universe. You'll be supported along every step of the journey. In our work together, I will combine multiple effective healing modalities to help you:

The Journey

I've spent the last fifteen years focusing on my own healing, embodiment and conscious expansion. It's been quite the journey and I'm grateful for every twist and turn as it's landed me here in this beautiful moment with you.

 

I grew up deep in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. This is one of the most magical places on the planet, and I'm so grateful to have known these sacred mountains as my home. As we all know, life can get complicated pretty quickly. Like many of us, I experienced major childhood trauma and did not know how to process the chaotic energy in my body at the time. Unfortunately, I developed some very unhealthy coping mechanisms and by the age of 22, I was in the depths of addiction, severe depression and seemingly insurmountable

physical illness.

 

It was only when I found myself on death's doorstep in 2010 that I began experiencing profound moments of spiritual awakening that sparked something in me. I knew that everything needed to change and that it was up to me to do the work.

 

And so I began...  

 

I started with the most pressing issue at the time and addressed my addiction first. From there, I dove deep into therapy. I eventually found an incredible mentor who is a highly skilled non-dual therapist. I worked with her for several years, both privately and in a group context. She used meditation, breath work, somatic therapy, yoga, inner child healing and much more to help me unwind the trauma that I had experienced as a child and young adult. She taught me how to safely allow my emotions to rise and release. More than anything, she taught me radical self-responsibility.

 

In 2015, I became slightly obsessed with nutrition and the proper way to fuel the human body. As a result, I ended up losing about 70 pounds and reversed all of my health conditions. With this newfound health and vitality, I began moving my body and started hiking or trail running every day. I was still living in the Appalachian Mountains at this time and the hiking trails were endless! As I explored more and more wilderness, I officially fell in love with nature and this beautiful planet we call home. This love affair continues to this day.

Fastforward to 2018... A friend of mine recommended a therapist in a nearby city, and I decided to make an appointment. Little did I know this session would change the entire trajectory of my life. We had only talked for a few minutes when she told me that she wanted to try something different and led me to a healing space with a massage table. She asked me to lie down, close my eyes and try to relax. I was very confused to say the least, but I quickly noticed different sensations within my body. I didn't have the language to describe what was happening at the time. I now know that she was helping me heal on a deeper level than I had ever experienced. She was clearing, shifting and balancing my energy.

 

When I got up from the table, I felt better than I had felt in many years... maybe better than ever. I had a profound sense of peace that remained with me for weeks after this session. I asked her what she had just done, and she told me about Reiki energy healing. My mind was blown! What was this magical thing called Reiki? I continued seeing her every month until she moved out of state. 

 

I was then introduced to my Reiki teacher, Darlene Himes, who I began studying with in 2019. I received my Reiki 1 and 2 Certification before moving here to Wilmington, NC. In 2020, I continued my Reiki training and received my Holy Fire Reiki Master-Teacher Certification. I then completed the highest level of training within this lineage in 2021 when I received my Karuna Reiki Master-Teacher Certification.

In October of 2021, I was led to my next teacher at Shakori Hills Music Festival. One of the offerings in the Healing Arts Center was a sound bath with a local shaman named Marie "Moon Hawk" Allred. Marie had a mesa cloth with stones laid out in front of her and she played the crystal singing bowls while channeling a message for the group. What happened next can only be described as the most incredible healing experience of my life up to that point. I had multiple deep releases of energy and emotion and by the end of the sound bath, I felt more light energy moving through my body than ever before.

 

I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was supposed to learn from Marie, and by May of 2022, I had begun my first year of training in Contemporary Shamanism. Marie has trained under incredible teachers such as Alberto Villoldo, Don Fransisco as well as many other accomplished medicine men and women. I completed my first year on the medicine wheel in May of 2023. This was a very powerful and transformative year to say the least. I am currently in the Advanced Contemporary Shamanism Course with Marie and will complete this 13-month training in 2024.

I will continue learning and growing for as long as I'm here on this incredible planet. I'm so grateful for all of the practitioners and teachers who have helped me along the way, and for all of those to come.
